Gulpy Poopy Worm Puzzle
You can't stop the falling blocks. You can eat them.
Blocks rain from the sky at random — you can't steer them, you can't rotate them, and they don't care about your plans. What you are is a small, hungry, three-segment worm with a big appetite and a very flexible digestive system.
GULP! is a turn-based cleanup puzzle where the sky only moves when you do. Think as long as you like — the world waits. Make a move, and everything falls exactly one row.
🍴 THE WORM IS THE INVENTORY
- EAT blocks ahead of you (or reach up) — up to 3 in your belly, shown right inside your body
- POOP them back out behind you, one at a time, wherever you can make them count
- A completed line pops, Tetris-style — wait. Completed line pops, classic-block-puzzle-style, and everything above tumbles down
- Re-swallowing your own poop? EW. (He agrees. There's an animation.)
💥 POOP CHAINING — THE CORE SCORING ENGINE
A poop that completes a line doubles the score. Your next poop completing a line makes it ×4. Then ×8. Then ×16. There is no ceiling — only your nerve. One normal clear (from falling debris, a nudge, an explosion) and the chain snaps back to ×1.
High-level play is entirely about this: eat junk, walk, place poop with surgical precision, and never let the world clear a line for you.
🥭 THE DURIAN PROBLEM
Rarely, a durian drops. Spiky. Menacing. Edible.
- Eat it, carry it, then poop it — BOOM! It detonates and crushes every neighboring cell, including stone
- A durian caught in a line clear also explodes — and chains through any other durians it uncovers
- Late-game: durians are your only demolition tool that isn't a full row
🪨 STONE — THE INEDIBLE ENEMY
Stone can't be eaten, can't be crushed, and can't be squeezed past — it's a wall that falls from the sky and scales up with every level. The only thing that removes stone is a completed row. It will sit exactly where you didn't want it. It will laugh at your undo key.
☁️ THE SKY ESCALATES
| Level | What starts dropping |
|---|---|
| 1 | single blocks, dominoes |
| 2 | triominoes |
| 3 | pentominoes |
| 4 | hexominoes |
| 5 | heptominoes |
| 6+ | 8-cell monsters |
(Four-cell pieces do not exist in this universe. They were never invented here. Please do not ask about them.)
Pieces land at random columns in random shapes, and after every line clear, lone blocks get nudged — right, then left, alternating forever — then fall if nothing's under them. The board is never quite done moving.
🛠️ TOOLS OF A PROFESSIONAL
- UNDO — rewinds a turn, 7 deep, with a live counter. Replays board state, belly, score, even the multiplier
- SURRENDER (white flag) — when you're truly entombed, wave it with a two-tap confirm. Your score still counts. Dignity optional
- Line-clear prediction — the NEXT preview shows the exact shape and drop column before you commit a turn
- Cascade multipliers — falling debris that clears more lines doubles, triples, compounds

HOW TO PLAY (the short version)
- Blocks fall when you act. One action = one turn.
- Move with ◀ ▶ (or A/D). Eat with W. Poop with S. Undo with Z or Space.
- Fill a whole row with anything — blocks or poop — and it pops.
- Chain poop-clears for multiplying score. Break the chain, lose the multiplier.
- Don't let the tank overflow. When it does, the worm is fine. The worm is always fine.
FAQ
Is this a ___-like? — It's a turn-based falling-block cleanup puzzle with an eating mechanic. In this game's universe, a certain famous 4-cell piece simply never evolved.
Why does the worm eat its own poop? — Strategy. Also, it's very gross about it.
Is there a win condition? — The tank always wins. Your job is to lose impressively: higher score, longer chain, bigger boom.
Can I play offline? — Yes. Fully offline, single HTML file, no accounts, no internet needed after loading.
